Elin Hurvenes

@Elin Hurvenes founded the Professional Boards Forum in 2003 in response to the Norwegian “Quota Law” requiring company boards to have at least 40% women directors.

The Professional Boards Forum brings together chairmen and experienced business women with a view to expand networks and raise the visibility of women board candidates. It has been a great success and is supported by the Ministry for Trade and several large corporations.

Norwegian companies currently have 43% women directors.

In 2008 Elin set up the UK Professional Boards Forum with business partner Jane Scott hosting similar events in London. The Forum is supported by leading UK companies such as Vodafone, Royal Bank of Scotland, Pearson, Accenture and PwC. More than 50 FTSE100/250 chairmen including Sir Philip Hampton, Sir John Bond, Roger Carr, Sir Peter Bonfield, Alison Carnwath, Sir John Parker and Donald Brydon have met and worked with out-standing women board candidates. The 2010 UK Forums will be on 19th May 2010 and 17th November, see www.boardsforum.co.uk.

Elin has a London Business School MBA.
